Job Advert Pharmacy Technician Rowley Hall & Beacon Park Hospitals, Stafford Full-time, 30 hours Ramsay Health Care’s Rowley Hall and Beacon Park Hospitals in Stafford have a vacancy for a driven and self-motivated Pharmacy Technician to join their team of staff in the Pharmacy department. This is a full time role (30 hours per week) looking for a Pharmacy Technician to support the Pharmacy team in the provision of pharmacy services across both hospital sites. Rowley Hall Hospital is one of Staffordshire's leading private hospitals located in a Georgian listed building in five acres of Rowley Park, only five minutes from the centre of Stafford. The hospital opened in 1987 and currently has 13 bedrooms all with en-suite facilities. By investing in advanced medical technology, the hospital offers a wide range of treatments and services. Two fully equipped theatres with ultra clean air technology is particularly suitable for orthopaedic procedures offered such as arthroscopy, hip and knee replacement and spinal surgery. Details of the position: As a valued member of the Pharmacy team, you will support the Pharmacy Manager in the provision of pharmacy services across 2 hospital sites. You will manage the ordering, receipt and supply of medicine stock to departments and support effective stock management. You will also support the pharmacist in ensuring that Inpatient Prescription Record Charts are checked regularly to ensure treatment is appropriate, both clinical and financially, also carrying out medicines reconciliations as needed on the ward. Key responsibilities include: Ordering, receipt & supply of medicines across departments with the hospitals Ensuring accurate and legal prescribing and issue of prescriptions for inpatients and outpatients as specified in Ramsay Health Care Policies and Procedures Supporting the pharmacist to ensure that Inpatient Prescription Record Charts are checked regularly to ensure treatment is appropriate, both clinically and financially and that the patient has sufficient supplies Providing straightforward advice to patients/carers and clinical staff on pharmaceutical products Supporting the pharmacist in the governance processes around medicines management including the undertaking of audits and management of medication-related incidents Involvement in the implementation of quality improvements and new processes around the management of medicines Ensuring that the agreed standards of patient care and confidentiality are maintained in accordance with Ramsay policies Adhering to GPhC Standards of conduct, ethics and performance To be flexible in working across 2 hospital sites within Stafford The successful candidate will also hold the following essential qualifications/criteria: NVQ3, BTEC in Pharmaceutical Science or equivalent level Member of the General Pharmaceutical Council At least 4 GCSEs (A-C), including English, Maths and Science or equivalent qualifications Sound written and verbal communication skills Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the business Demonstrated Customer Service skills Demonstrated Computer Skills It would also be desirable for the applicant to have experience working in a hospital environment Why join us?
